Mr. Barlia founded and has operated Peak
Construction Corporation since 1987 and has completed numerous
commercial rehabilitations throughout the Washington metropolitan
area, including hotels, office buildings, industrial, multifamily
rentals and condominiums. Peak Management Corporation manages
commercial and multifamily properties in the Washington, DC,
area.
Peak focuses on urban redevelopment projects in the District
of Columbia, including affordable housing. Peak has developed
and executed projects incorporating renewal and physical improvements
while maintaining reasonable levels of affordability as well
as providing needed neighborhood services.
Mr. Barlia is an active member of the Housing Committee of
the DC Builders and Investors Association (DCBIA) and has
testified before the DC Council’s Committee on Housing
and Economic Development regarding affordable housing issues.
Currently, he is a member of the Board of Trustees of the Sheridan
School in Washington, DC, and chairs its Facilities Committee.
Mr. Barlia has a business degree from Boston University.
